Step one: Gathering data
We ask senior leaders and board members in the climate sector to share anonymous, GDPR-compliant demographic data.
Step two: Spot the gaps
We identify where inequality exists - in leadership, systems, and decision-making.
Step three: Centre lived experience
We amplify underrepresented voices and place lived experience at the heart of the process.
Step four: Drive change
We support organisations to turn insight into impact through better policy, fairer recruitment, and new ways of working.

We're catalysing collective action through transparency.
PACE Index is a collaboration between SOS-UK and zedela. We're working alongside a growing network of climate organisations and individuals across Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
In 2025, we're calling on NGOs and funders working in the European climate space to commit to transparency and accountability for progressing social inclusion. The ultimate goal is to ensure climate organisations are centred around justice for all.
By signing up to PACE Index, senior leaders in organizations will take part in a survey to drive understanding of diversity and inclusion in the sector.
The 2025 survey for PACE Index will take place September - October.
